The Library provides assistance to users with disabilities to make good use of the sources and services it offers.

Priority to individuals with disabilities

For all library services offered priority is given to users with disabilities, to whom the Library provides equal access to information and services. In any case all other users are expected to facilitate users with disabilities.

Access, retrieval and reproduction of material

Users with disabilities can apply to Library staff for access to and retrieval of material from book stacks, as well as for material reproduction that is covered by the exception to Law on Intellectual Property for the benefit of individuals with disabilities.

Access to Library premises

Outside the Library

The Library is accessible to individuals with disabilities, providing a flat surface with no stairs. The external passageway leading to the building’s entrance starting from the parking area south to the entrance provides a special ground strip of different texture and colour (yellow) compared to the rest of the pavement for visually impaired users.

On the north of the building’s entrance there are ten parking spaces for vehicles of individuals with disabilities.

The door at the main entrance of the building opens automatically.

Inside the Library

All floors can be accessed with use of elevators. Elevators provide sound and visual notifications upon arrival to a new level. Buttons are appropriately located for wheelchair access, while numbers are embossed and additionally provided in braille.

There are WC for wheelchair users in all levels except the 3rd (top) floor, also providing sound notification switch in case assistance is required.

Studying space and working station

On ground level there is a working station for print-disabled users providing appropriate equipment (hardware and software).

Studying space designated for wheelchair users is located on the basement (3 users), on the 1st floor (5 users) and on the 3rd floor (8 users). In these spaces there are also computers, for which priority is given to wheelchair users.

Furthermore, there is study space designated for wheelchair users in the Reading Area 24/7 and one Group Study Box on the 1st floor (no. 107) is designated for wheelchair users (up to 4).

Self Check-out Stations

The height of the surface of Self Check-out Stations is adjustable, so that wheelchair users can use them.
