On Saturday 01/10/2022 the Library will be closed due to public holiday. The 24/7 Reading Room remains open, even on public holidays.

Springer Nature publisher is organizing an online author workshop titled: “How to write and publish scientific articles”. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, September 28, 2022  11:00 am – 12:00 am EEST/ Cyprus time. To attend the workshop a registration is needed.

We would like to inform you that on Friday, 9 September 2022, 18:00 - 19:00,  the President of the European Parliament, Ms Roberta Metsola, representatives of the European Parliament of Cyprus and the President of the House of Representatives, Ms Annita Demetriou, will visit the Learning Resource Center - Library "Stelios Ioannou" of the University of Cyprus in order to discuss with students on the subject: A look into the future. The University of Cyprus Library announces that, upon decision of the University’s Authorities, there will be a change of the Library’s opening hours between 8-28/8/2022: “Stelios Ioannou” Learning Resource Centre: Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 15:00. Closed on weekends. The 24/7 Reading Room operation will be suspended during the aforementioned period. Archaeological Research Unit’s Library: Monday - Friday, 10:00 - 15:00. Please be reminded that the Library will remain closed between 15-21/8/2022

The Library will be closed from Monday 15 to Sunday 21 August 2022 inclusive. The 24/7 Reading Room will remain open.

As of July 8th 2022, following the decision of the Republic of Cyprus Government for the reintroduction of the measure for the mandatory use of a protective mask indoors and in closed spaces, so as to stop the spread of coronavirus in Cyprus, all users over 12 years of age must wear protective face masks when at the Library premises. The following are excluded from the above regulation: People with special cognitive abilities/mental/developmental disorders who do not comply with mask application, People with severe neurological/neuromuscular disease which does not allow them to handle the mask People with anatomical maxillofacial variations/deformities and/or [...]

Unable to access your personal library account “My Library”. The Self-Checkout/Check-in Stations will be temporarily deactivated. Unable to make electronic payment of fines. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.  

Ειδική τελετή πραγματοποιήθηκε την Τρίτη, 14 Ιουνίου 2022, στο κτήριο Συμβουλίου-Συγκλήτου «Αναστάσιος Γ. Λεβέντης» του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου για την υπογραφή της Συμφωνίας Συνεργασίας μεταξύ του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου και του κυρίου Γιαννάκη Μάτση, ως νόμιμου κατόχου του αρχείου του ήρωα του απελευθερωτικού αγώνα της ΕΟΚΑ 1955-59 Κυριάκου Μάτση, ο οποίος το παραχωρεί για ψηφιοποίηση και διάθεση μέσω της Βιβλιοθήκης του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Χάρη στη γενναιόδωρη δωρεά του, το ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό και σπάνιο αυτό Αρχείο, θα εντάσσεται πλέον στην πλούσια Συλλογή του Κέντρου Πληροφόρησης-Βιβλιοθήκη «Στέλιος Ιωάννου» του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου.
