Please be informed that a new service, OpenAthens, will soon be used to access the Library’s licensed electronic resources . OpenAthens is an authentication and electronic access management system that allows users to access publisher content with their UCY credentials.
We will soon share more information on the use of OpenAthens and the changes that may occur to the current system of accessing the electronic resources of the Library.
Meanwhile, both VPN and OpenAthens can be used for accessing the Library resources remotely.
Once OpenAthens is fully implemented, users will be able to access the Library’s purchased and subscription-based content hosted on the platforms of publishers and vendors with just one login, within the University network.
Subscriptions that require a username and password authentication will not be affected by this change.
